The Bryan County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for detention officers. Minimum qualifications required, high school diploma or G.E.D. must be at least 18 years of age, must have a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle record. Applicant must not have any felony convictions; must successfully pass drug screening as conditional employment offer, must pass extensive background inquiry: preferred qualifications completion of basic jail officer’s course from G.P.S.T.C. or have P.O.S.T certification as basic law enforcement officer.
