The Bryan County Commissioners are now accepting applications for a full-time utility support technician.  Minimum qualifications required: high school diploma or  g.e.d., vocational training which would allow the candidate to under general supervision, records, monitors and reports water meters using meter reading computer; interacts with customers and addresses questions and resolves complaints; reports abnormal or suspicious meter conditions or usage patterns; makes field repairs to meters; and performs other duties as assigned; previous experience in water and sewage utilities is a plus; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.  Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.  A current MVR is also required.  Open Until Filled

The Bryan County Board of Commissioners is now seeking qualified applicants for the position of Building Inspector for the Department of Planning & Zoning.  The duties include various responsibilities in inspections such as reviewing building plans, blueprints, building permit applications, and inspecting construction sites for code compliance and issuing building permits and certificates of occupancy. The successful candidate must have effective communication and public relation skills; be proficient in word processing, internet access, database management and other related skills.  High School Diploma or GED required; two (2) years of experience in residential or commercial building construction/inspection or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.  Must possess or obtain International Code Council (ICC) Residential Combination Building Inspector Certification no later than two (2) years from the date of hire with the first ICC Certification (any category) being obtained no later than six (6) months from the date of hire; both milestones must be met and maintained as a condition of continued employment.  Must possess and maintain valid Georgia Driver’s License.  Applications are available by clicking the link above.
