Bryan County 911
Director: Sheriff Clyde Smith
Coordinator: Sgt. Kathy Hicks
Assistant Coordinator: Lisa Geiger
The 911 office is located in the courthouse annex in Pembroke, GA. It provides new residents with their physical address and keeps a record of all the addresses in the county. The 911 office is also responsible for maintaining and updating the 911 database. BryanCounty is a very unusual county for the state of Georgia because it is split into a north and south end. This is due to the Fort Stewart Military Reservation located in the middle of it.
There are two dispatch centers in BryanCounty. In NorthBryanCounty there is Bryan Central, and in South Bryan there is Richmond Hill Communications. The two offices are responsible for eight 911 telephone lines, six emergency, two TDD and four administration telephone lines. The staff duties include but are not limited to: dispatching all law enforcement agencies in North and South Bryan as well as the city of Pembroke and the city of Richmond Hill, the emergency medical services and the four fire departments within both ends of the county and both cities. There is a written record on all calls that come through the office.
The 911 staff consist of 14 full time employees and 2 part time employees. On an average month, the 911 centers handle about 2000 calls. There is someone available in the 911 centers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
