Each year, the Bryan County Board of Commissioners has openings on various County Boards; this year will be no exception (2008). The following are active boards that serve the people of Bryan County. There are vacancies on several boards and some of the currently appointed persons terms will expire during the year. The ommissioners have the arduous task of appointing new members or reappointing those that have served admirably.
Tax Assessors Board (one vacancy, one term expiring)
Board of Equalization (appointed by Grand Jury)
Department of Family and Children Services (one term expiring)
Library Board (one term expiring)
Planning and Zoning Board (one vacancy, one term expiring)
Family Connections (always looking for good people)
Coastal GA Resource Conservation District (term expiring)
Various Coastal Georgia Regional Develop Center Boards
Workforce Investment Board (term expiring)
